Evaluating the safety of mental health-related prescribing in UK primary care: a cross-sectional study using the Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD)

Summary: This study found potential hazardous prescribing and inadequate medication monitoring in patients with mental illness in primary care. Significant variation between practices was also identified. Patients aged 35-44, females, and those receiving more than 10 repeat prescriptions were at greater risk of triggering a prescribing indicator.

Summary: The time motion study conducted in primary care facilities in Lima showed that there was a substantial amount of time spent on patient interaction and paper record-keeping. Absenteeism increased the unavailability of health workers in primary care facilities, and inactive time further decreased health worker availability.
