Summary: A series of isatin derivatives containing thiazole moiety were synthesized and evaluated for their anticonvulsant activity in vivo, showing most compounds exhibited relative potency compared to standard drug phenobarbitone. The most active compounds demonstrated good toxic properties on liver and kidney functions with mild changes in hematological parameters, kidney and liver tissues.

Further investigation into their oral bioavailability and pharmacokinetics properties was also conducted in this research.
