Dual-Tracer (68Ga-DOTATOC and 18F-FDG-)-PET/CT Scan and G1-G2 Nonfunctioning Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors: A Single-Center Retrospective Evaluation of 124 Nonmetastatic Resected Cases

Salvatore Paiella et al.

Summary: This study retrospectively analyzed dual-tracer PET/CT scan data of G1-G2 nonmetastatic PanNETs, finding a combined sensitivity of 99.2% for Ga-68-DOTATOC and F-18-FDG PET/CT scans. F-18-FDG-positive examinations more often detected G2 tumors and larger PanNETs, with a median Ki67 difference between positive and negative examinations.

Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors in Patients with Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Type 1: Diagnostic Value of Different MRI Sequences

Summary: MRI is an effective tool for monitoring pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors in MEN-1 patients. DWI and T2-w FS sequences have the highest accuracy in detecting PNETs, suggesting an abbreviated MRI protocol without contrast medium administration for monitoring MEN-1 patients.

Reliability and Agreement of Radiological and Pathological Tumor Size in Patients with Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Type 1-Related Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors: Results from a Population-Based Cohort

Dirk-Jan van Beek et al.

Summary: In a population-based cohort of patients with MEN1-related pNETs, the study assessed the reliability and agreement of radiological and pathological tumor size. It was found that MRI is the preferred imaging modality for predicting tumor size, with an overall agreement rate of 81.5% between radiological and pathological measurements. MRI, CT, and EUS showed absolute agreement rates of 88.6%, 85.7%, and 75.0%, and kappa values of 0.77, 0.71, and 0.50, respectively.

Summary: Neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs) are a heterogeneous group of tumors with diverse potential therapeutic targets, such as SST2 and GLP-1R, as well as newly identified targets. By targeting these receptors, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions can be carried out, with further research needed to explore additional potential treatments.
