Trib1 promotes acute myeloid leukemia progression by modulating the transcriptional programs of Hoxa9

Seiko Yoshino et al.

Summary: Trib1 functions as an important regulator in myeloid leukemogenesis by modulating Hoxa9-associated super-enhancers and C/EBP alpha p42 to affect mRNA expression. ERG is a critical downstream target of the Trib1/Hoxa9 axis, and Trib1 might be a potential therapeutic target for Hoxa9-associated AML.

Sulfur-Coordinated Organoiridium(III) Complexes Exert Breast Anticancer Activity via Inhibition of Wnt/β-Catenin Signaling

Qi Sun et al.

Summary: The sulfur-coordinated organoiridium(III) complexes pbtIrSS and ppyIrSS were found to inhibit breast cancer tumorigenesis and metastasis by targeting Wnt/beta-catenin signaling for the first time. Treatment with these complexes can decrease the expression of Wnt target genes, suppress cell migration and invasion, and regulate the stemness properties of breast cancer cells. These complexes have the potential to be developed as novel breast cancer therapeutic agents with potent anti-tumor and anti-metastasis effects.

C-terminal truncated HBx initiates hepatocarcinogenesis by downregulating TXNIP and reprogramming glucose metabolism

Yu Zhang et al.

Summary: Chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is strongly linked to hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) development. Genetic alterations and molecular mechanisms, especially HBV-induced metabolic reprogramming, are still underexplored. This study reveals the role of Ct-HBx in HCC progression through downregulation of TXNIP and suggests TXNIP as a potential therapeutic target in treating HCC.

Autophagy, an accomplice or antagonist of drug resistance in HCC?

Yafei Wu et al.

Summary: Hepatocellular carcinoma, a highly lethal malignancy, shows poor response to drug treatment with frequent drug resistance. Autophagy plays a crucial role in HCC drug resistance, interacting with cancer stem cells, tumor-derived exosomes, and noncoding RNA. Clinical trials focusing on autophagy inhibition combined with anticancer drugs are of interest.

The Epigenetic Modulation of Cancer and Immune Pathways in Hepatitis B Virus-Associated Hepatocellular Carcinoma: The Influence of HBx and miRNA Dysregulation

Kurt Sartorius et al.

Summary: This review investigates the interplay between chronic hepatitis B infection, the silencing role of miRNA, epigenetic changes, immune system expression, and HBV-HCC pathogenesis. It highlights the influence of HBx-induced epigenetic miRNA pathways in HBV-HCC and demonstrates the complex interplay between HBV infection, epigenetic changes, disease, and immune response. The review suggests that epigenetic changes and miRNA modulation could offer potential therapeutic options in HBV-HCC.

Competing endogenous RNAs in lung cancer

Median Zhao et al.

Summary: CeRNAs can regulate biological processes through complex networks, potentially leading to cancer when imbalanced; Dysregulated RNAs in lung cancer may serve as ceRNAs to regulate various biological functions; CeRNAs are also being explored as potential prognostic and diagnostic biomarkers in lung cancer.
