Characterization and anti-inflammation of a polysaccharide produced by Chaetomium globosum CGMCC 6882 on LPS-induced RAW 264.7 cells

Zichao Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, a polysaccharide (CGP-BG) was successfully produced from waste distillers' grain by Chaetomium globosum CGMCC 6882. The chemical analysis showed that CGP-BG contained a good protein content. CGP-BG demonstrated scavenging activities on various radicals and inhibited inflammation and oxidative stress, suggesting its potential application as an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant agent.

Short-Chain Fatty Acids, Maternal Microbiota and Metabolism in Pregnancy

Maciej Zietek et al.

Summary: This study summarizes the potential impact and mechanisms of SCFAs on maternal metabolism during pregnancy, emphasizing their crucial role in maternal health and neonatal development. Additionally, it also discusses the mechanisms of SCFAs as signaling molecules regulating the body's energy balance through G-protein receptors.

Effect of an Antibacterial Polysaccharide Produced by Chaetomium globosum CGMCC 6882 on the Gut Microbiota of Mice

Xincheng Sun et al.

Summary: The polysaccharide produced by Chaetomium globosum CGMCC 6882 was found to have antibacterial activity and was safe for Caco-2 cells and mice. It reduced body weight gain in mice, increased short-chain fatty acids concentrations, enriched gut microbiota, and increased the Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes ratio, providing guidance for potential applications in food preservation and other fields in the future.

Implications of SCFAs on the Parameters of the Lipid and Hepatic Profile in Pregnant Women

Maciej Zietek et al.

Summary: The study analyzed the correlation of SCFAs with lipid and hepatic metabolism during pregnancy in relation to the body weight of pregnant women. Significant differences in concentrations of certain SCFAs were found in overweight and obese women compared to the control group, with some SCFAs being associated with hepatic lipid metabolism and CRP concentrations.
