Cancer Incidence and Mortality Rates in Multiple Sclerosis A Matched Cohort Studyy

Summary: In a study comparing cancer risk in people with multiple sclerosis (MS) and those without MS using population-based data, it was found that the incidence of breast and colorectal cancers did not significantly differ between the two groups, while bladder cancer risk was increased in the MS cohort. Differences in the incidence of some cancers among MS patients may be attributed to ascertainment differences rather than actual disparities.

Robot-Assisted Cystectomy and Ileal Conduit for Neurogenic Bladder: Comparison of Extracorporeal vs Intracorporeal Urinary Diversion

Summary: The study aimed to compare the perioperative outcomes of EXTRA vs INTRA urinary diversion in patients undergoing robotic cystectomy, finding no significant differences between the two groups in terms of postoperative complications, length of stay, time to oral feeding, time to return of bowel function, and incisional hernia rates. The relative perioperative morbidity of robotic cystectomy and ileal conduit for neurogenic bladder appears limited compared with historical open series, with no clear advantage of either type of urinary diversion.
