Transcriptome profiling in head kidney of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) after infection with the low-virulent Nagano genotype of infectious hematopoietic necrosis virus

Jinwoo Kim et al.

Summary: Infectious hematopoietic necrosis virus (IHNV) infection in rainbow trout dynamically alters the transcriptome profiles, inducing defense mechanisms primarily through pathogen recognition receptor (PRR) signaling pathways. Enrichment analysis revealed common biological process terms and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway analysis identified key signaling pathways at different time points. Protein-protein interaction network analysis showed an upregulation of immune system and signaling pathways early on, with downregulation of pathways related to wound healing at later stages.

RNA-seq transcriptome analysis in flounder cells to compare innate immune responses to low- and high-virulence viral hemorrhagic septicemia virus

Jee Youn Hwang et al.

Summary: This study investigated the modulation of innate immune responses in HINAE flounder cells infected with low- and high-virulence VHSV strains, identifying specific innate immune response genes related to high-virulence VHSV. The findings contribute to a better understanding of VHSV virulence in flounder at the molecular level.
