Demographic, psychological, and experiential correlates of SARS-CoV-2 vaccination intentions in a sample of Canadian families

Christine L. Lackner et al.

Summary: This study investigated the factors associated with the likelihood and speed of children receiving a SARS-CoV-2 vaccine in 455 Canadian families. It was found that older parental age, living in the Prairies, more complete child vaccination history, and prioritizing disease risks over side effects were all associated with higher intention to vaccinate children. Additionally, faster vaccination speed was predicted by similar factors with the presence of a child with a COVID-19 related health risk associated with slower intended speed.

Willingness of children and adolescents to have a COVID-19 vaccination: Results of a large whole schools survey in England

Mina Fazel et al.

Summary: This study in England revealed the characteristics of vaccine hesitant children and adolescents aged 9-18 regarding COVID-19 vaccination. Younger students were less willing to get vaccinated, and those hesitant or opting out tended to come from more deprived socioeconomic backgrounds with higher rates of home rental. They were also more likely to engage in risky health behaviors and have lower levels of social connection.
