Projected Changes in Climate Extremes Using CMIP6 Simulations Over SREX Regions

Mansour Almazroui et al.

Summary: The study reveals that under different socioeconomic scenarios, intensity and frequency of extreme temperature and precipitation events over land are projected to increase. The intensity of the hottest days in extratropical regions is projected to increase more than in the tropics, while the frequency of extremely hot days is projected to increase more in tropical regions.

Future changes in precipitation and temperature over the Yangtze River Basin in China based on CMIP6 GCMs

Yanlin Yue et al.

Summary: This paper examines the projected changes in precipitation, maximum temperature, and minimum temperature over the Yangtze River Basin based on 23 Global climate models from CMIP6. The Empirical Quantile Mapping approach is used to correct biases, and the future changes are analyzed under different scenarios. Results show that precipitation is projected to increase over the YRB, while Tmax and Tmin are also expected to rise. Using the multimodel ensemble helps reduce uncertainties in the projected climate trends, but further research is needed for more reliable projections.

Temperature dataset of CMIP6 models over China: evaluation, trend and uncertainty

Qinglong You et al.

Summary: This study investigates the projected surface mean temperature changes over China and its four sub-regions using data from 20 models of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6 (CMIP6). It shows that China is expected to experience increasing temperatures, with accelerated warming in Northwestern China and the Tibetan Plateau. The main sources of uncertainty for future temperature projections in China are identified as model and scenario uncertainty, particularly in regions with the largest cold bias.

Projection of temperature and precipitation under SSPs-RCPs Scenarios over northwest China

Jiancheng Qin et al.

Summary: Climate change significantly impacts the environmental and socioeconomic conditions in northwest China. Future projections indicate a continued increase in temperature and precipitation, with higher increases in precipitation in the south compared to the north. Long-term warming will be significantly higher than in the near and mid-terms.
