One-step straightfoward solid synthesis of high yield white fluorescent carbon dots for white light emitting diodes

Bingyan Han et al.

Summary: In this study, white fluorescent carbon dots (W-CDs) were directly prepared using 1,6-dihydroxynaphthalene (1,6-DHN) and L-asparagine (L-Asn) as carbon sources through a simple solvent-free method. The as-prepared W-CDs can be obtained in high yield and used to fabricate relatively pure white LEDs, showing promising future for a wide range of optoelectronic devices.

Amphipathic carbon quantum dots-functionalized silica stationary phase for reversed phase/hydrophilic interaction chromatography

Qi Wu et al.

Summary: Amphipathic CQDs modified silica stationary phase shows typical characteristics of RPLC/HILIC, achieving satisfactory separation of both hydrophobic and hydrophilic compounds. The retention mechanism is investigated, revealing main interactions such as hydrophobic interaction, pi-pi stacking, hydrogen-bonding and electrostatic interactions under RPLC mode. This work provides a new approach for synthesis of amphipathic CQDs with great prospects in separation science.
