Synthesis of surface imprinted polymers based on wrinkled flower-like magnetic graphene microspheres with favorable recognition ability for BSA

Zuoting Yang et al.

Summary: The novel surface molecular imprinted polymers (MIPs) Fe3O4@rGO@MIPs were successfully synthesized, exhibiting excellent dispersibility, high external surface area, rich pore structure, and good magnetic properties. These advantages not only prevent the agglomeration of imprinted microspheres in the aqueous phase, which is conducive to contact and static adsorption, but also increase the amount of protein imprinting. Fe3O4@rGO@MIPs show a binding capacity for BSA of 317.58 mg/g within 60 min, with an imprinting factor (IF) of 4.24. Additionally, Fe3O4@rGO@MIPs can specifically recognize the target BSA from the mixed proteins and the actual sample.

Contribution to the Understanding of the Interaction between a Polydopamine Molecular Imprint and a Protein Model: Ionic Strength and pH Effect Investigation

Amal Tlili et al.

Summary: Several studies have been conducted on the design of molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP)-based sensors for protein detection. The understanding of interaction mechanism involved in protein recognition by an imprint was explored through polydopamine (PDA)-MIP designed for bovine serum albumin (BSA) recognition. Adjusting pH and ionic strength were found to be crucial for successful MIP sensor design and protein recognition process. Sensitivity and dissociation constant of the designed sensor were of certain values, indicating its potential application in protein detection.
