1,5-Benzodiazepines are important N-containing bicyclic heterocyclic compounds with extraordinary biological and pharmacological properties. This review focuses on the application of various solid supported catalysts in the synthesis of 1,5-benzodiazepines and their derivatives.
1,5-Benzodiazepines are one of the most important class of N-containing bicyclic heterocyclic compounds due to their extraordinary biological and pharmacological properties. The biological properties shown by bicyclic benzodiazepines in many fields has prompted the organic chemist to design and preparation of new benzodiazepines and their derivatives as potential therapeutic agents with improved biological properties. This review is primarily focused on different solid supported catalysts, such as graphene oxide, silica, clay, magnesium oxide, iron oxide, zeolite, and other miscellaneous catalysts for the one-pot, economical, greener and environmentally benign synthesis of 1,5-benzodiazepines and its derivatives.
