Engineers working in industrial construction often face challenges when designing, calculating, or building crane runways, which have different requirements from normal structures. Mistakes in handling crane runways can affect their functionality, stability, or durability, but these errors can be avoided to prevent negative consequences.
Almost every engineer working in industrial construction occasionally has the task of designing, calculating or building crane runways. Since the requirements for crane runway girders differ in many respects from those for normal structures, dealing with runways for overhead cranes is always a challenge Mistakes can be made that affect the functioning, the stability or the durability of the crane runway girder Some of these potential mistakes are shown in this article, together with their consequences and the possibilities for avoiding them.
