A comparative study on biological properties and chemical profiles of different solvent extracts from Centaurea bingoelensis, an endemic plant of Turkey

Ahmet Uysal et al.

Summary: This study revealed that Centaurea bingoelensis extracts exhibited significant antioxidant, enzyme inhibitory, antimicrobial, and cytotoxic activities, with the hydro-methanol extract showing the highest activity. The methanol extract demonstrated high toxicity against HepG2 cells and reduced the viability of non-tumoral cells. These findings suggest that Centaurea bingoelensis could be a promising candidate for developing novel phyto-pharmaceuticals.
