Interface effect in sandwich like Ni/Ti3C2 catalysts on hydrogen storage performance of MgH2

Haiguang Gao et al.

Summary: Sandwich-like Ni/Ti3C2 catalysts were fabricated controllably with interfacial differences via a modified wet chemical method. The Ni/Ti3C2-WE catalyst prepared from mixed solvents showed the best catalytic activity, with electronic interaction and unique catalyst structure being important factors for enhanced activity. This research highlights the significance of interfacial interactions between multiphase catalysts in improving hydrogen storage performance of Mg-based materials.

Achieving superior hydrogen storage properties of MgH2 by the effect of TiFe and carbon nanotubes

Xiong Lu et al.

Summary: The addition of TiFe and CNTs significantly enhances the hydrogen storage performance of magnesium hydride, lowers the hydrogenation activation energy, yet has limited impact on the thermodynamic properties.Uniformly distributed TiFe and CNTs act as active catalytic units and aggregation preventers respectively, improving the hydrogen storage properties of MgH2.

MOF-derived Ni nanoparticles dispersed on monolayer MXene as catalyst for improved hydrogen storage kinetics of MgH2

Tianping Huang et al.

Summary: A novel catalyst-MOFs derived Ni nanoparticles dispersed on exfoliated monolayered MXene functional carrier was prepared and introduced into MgH2, leading to significant improvements in hydrogen storage properties, including lower hydrogen releasing temperature and activation energy, enhanced hydrogen release rate, and improved hydrogen absorption performance. Cycling tests demonstrated excellent hydrogen cycling stability of the composite material after 10 cycles.

Enhanced catalytic effect of TiO2@rGO synthesized by one-pot ethylene glycol-assisted solvothermal method for MgH2

Guanhao Liu et al.

Summary: This study synthesized graphene-supported TiO2 nanoparticles and investigated their effect on the hydrogen storage performance of MgH2. The results showed that the composite material can rapidly release and absorb hydrogen at lower temperatures, attributed to the synergistic effect of the catalyst and Ti2+.

Improvement of the hydrogen storage characteristics of MgH2 with a flake Ni nano-catalyst composite

Xinglin Yang et al.

Summary: The hydrogen storage performance of MgH2 can be effectively improved by doping with a flake Ni nano-catalyst, achieving high hydrogen release and absorption rates at elevated temperatures. The addition of Ni also lowers the activation energies for hydrogen absorption and dehydrogenation, while forming Mg2Ni/Mg2NiH4 on the surface to act as a hydrogen pump, accelerating the reaction rates.
