Architecture control and electronic structure engineering over Ni-based nitride nanocomposite for boosting ammonia borane dehydrogenation

Ping Li et al.

Summary: This study successfully prepared a catalyst with excellent catalytic performance for AB dehydrogenation by synthesizing Co-doped Ni nitride nanoparticles anchored on reduced graphene oxide nanosheets. The catalyst exhibited high turnover frequency and low activation energy, attributed to the full exposure of active sites and favorable mass transfer.

Rational Design of High-Concentration Ti3+ in Porous Carbon-Doped TiO2 Nanosheets for Efficient Photocatalytic Ammonia Synthesis

Qing Han et al.

Summary: The study presents porous carbon-doped anatase TiOx (C-TiOx) nanosheets with high-concentration active sites of Ti3+ obtained through a reproducible bottom-up approach. It demonstrates that the high-concentration Ti3+ sites play a vital role in enhancing N-2 photoreduction activity. Combined with the morphology of porous nanosheets and the loading of a Ru/RuO2 cocatalyst, the optimized C-TiOx shows a high NH3 production rate and remarkable quantum efficiency under visible-light irradiation, outperforming current TiO2-based photocatalysts.

Polymeric Carbon Nitride-Derived Photocatalysts for Water Splitting and Nitrogen Fixation

Deliang Zhang et al.

Summary: Photocatalysis is a promising technology for energy conversion and environmental restoration, with a strong focus on developing efficient photocatalysts. Semiconductor-based photocatalysis using solar energy is considered an attractive solution for global energy shortage and environmental pollution. The use of polymeric carbon nitride (PCN) in visible light photocatalysis has gained significant research attention, with strategies to improve performance through morphology control, heteroatom doping, and heterojunction construction. Through different design approaches, the efficiency of PCN materials in separating electron-hole pairs can be enhanced to improve photocatalytic performance, with challenges still present in water splitting and nitrogen fixation applications.
