Correlation of Flexor Pollicis Longus Tendon Status by Ultrasonography with Plate Position on Radiographs Following Volar Plate Fixation of Distal Radius Fractures with Pronator Quadratus Repair

Anil. K. Bhat et al.

Summary: This study aimed to correlate flexor pollicis longus tendon attrition with plate position following volar locked compression plate fixation in patients with pronator quadratus repair for distal radius fractures. It found that pronator quadratus repair may not prevent attritional changes in cases with higher Soong grades, suggesting a need for follow-up and early implant removal in these patients.

ROLE OF ULTRASOUND IN FLEXOR TENDON INJURIES OF THE HAND: A NEW INSIGHT

Tagedpchris Nabil Hanna Bekhet et al.

Summary: This study validates the high accuracy and sensitivity of ultrasound scans in diagnosing hand flexor tendon injuries, especially in diagnosing complete or partial flexor injuries. Zonal II injury is the most common among the injured population and correlates with poor functional outcomes at 3 months post-rehabilitation.
