Summary: In this paper, a multiscale framework based on adaptive edge basis functions is introduced to solve second-order linear elliptic PDEs with rough coefficients. The proposed method achieves nearly exponential convergence in the approximation error with respect to the computational degrees of freedom. The strategy involves an energy orthogonal decomposition of the solution space into coarse scale and fine scale components, leading to efficient computation and numerical validation of the theoretical analysis.
