Photonic Crystal of Polystyrene Nanomembrane: Signal Amplification and Low Triggered Potential Electrochemiluminescence for Tetracycline Detection

Xiao-Yan Wang et al.

Summary: A low triggered potential electrochemiluminescence strategy based on gold-filled photonic crystal electrodes was proposed in this study. The strategy involved Ru(bpy)(3)(2+)-COOH labeling on antibodies connected to immobilized antigens for detection, with ECL emission initiated by the oxidation of tripropylamine. The nanomembrane of the photonic crystals was found to enhance the electrochemiluminescence, allowing successful detection of tetracycline antibiotic with a low detection limit.

Ratiometric fluorescence sensor based on europium-grafted ZnO quantum dots for visual and colorimetric detection of tetracycline

Wen-Jie Wu et al.

Summary: A highly sensitive, real-time, and on-site visual probe method for tetracycline was developed using europium functionalized ZnO quantum dots as a ratiometric fluorescent nanoprobe. The nanoprobe showed excellent selectivity and rapid response in detecting TC levels, with a detection limit of 4 nM. Additionally, the fluorescence of the nanoprobe transitioned from yellow to red as the TC concentration increased, allowing for naked eye detection and RGB value analysis on a mobile phone APP.
