MoS2-Templated Porous Hollow MoO3 Microspheres for Highly Selective Ammonia Sensing via a Lewis Acid-Base Interaction

Fanli Meng et al.

Summary: This article reports the synthesis of porous and hollow MoO3 microspheres for the detection of ammonia gas. The study found that p-h-MoO3 exhibits ultrahigh responsiveness to ammonia with significant selectivity. The composition and morphology of p-h-MoO3 were characterized using microscopic and spectroscopic techniques, and the sensing mechanism was investigated using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and diffuse reflectance Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy.

MOF-derived bow-like Ga-doped Co3O4 hierarchical architectures for enhanced triethylamine sensing performance

Heming Sun et al.

Summary: The hierarchical bow-like Ga-doped Co3O4 architectures assembled by ultrathin and porous nanosheets were synthesized with the assistance of Co-MOFs. The 2 at% Ga-doped Co3O4 sensor showed excellent gas sensing performance, outperforming the pure Co(3)O(4) sensor, with high response to triethylamine at a low working temperature and rapid response/recovery speed.

Single-crystalline rutile TiO2 nanorod array on flexible Ti substrates for efficient photoelectrocatalytic degradation of phenol in water

Juan Xie et al.

Summary: Single-crystalline rutile TiO2 nanorod arrays were directly deposited on flexible and conductive Ti substrates through a hydrothermal technique, achieving high PEC activity. The distribution density of TiO2 nanorods and PEC efficiency can be influenced by adjusting the TBT concentration and hydrothermal duration. The maximum reaction rate constant significantly increased and the photocurrent showed good stability.

Branching TiO2 nanowire arrays for enhanced ethanol sensing

Qi Jin et al.

Summary: Nanostructure modulation is effective for high performance TiO2-based gas sensors. By using a wet-chemistry route to precipitate directly branched TiO2 nanowire arrays on alumina tubes, the sensors exhibit enhanced response due to the unique porous architecture and quasi-aligned nanostructure. The phase junctions between the backbone and branch of the branched TiO2 nanowire arrays help resistance modulation, leading to excellent sensor properties.

Nitrogen-doped graphene quantum dots-modified mesoporous SnO2 hierarchical hollow cubes for low temperature detection of nitrogen dioxide

Ya-Kun Lv et al.

Summary: A novel SnO2 hierarchical hollow cube with nitrogen-doped graphene quantum dots modification was prepared via a simple sulfidation-oxidation method in this study, showing improved response and detection ability for NO2 gas sensor applications. The enhanced sensing performance was attributed to the zero-dimensional/three-dimensional heterostructure construction and N doping, as well as the mesoporous hierarchical cubic structure providing stable gas diffusion channels and large specific surface area.
