Reconfigurable electronic circuits for magnetic fields controlled by structured light

K. Jana et al.

Summary: Structured light beams are utilized to interfere with photoexcitation pathways in gallium arsenide, sculpting the spatial and momentum configuration of its conduction band population. This approach enables programmable control over current elements at the hundred-micrometre scale, with vast flexibility in excited current patterns. The platform demonstrates dynamic optoelectronic interconnects, circuits for tailored magnetic fields, and magnetic field lattices.

Electromagnetic theory of helicoidal dichroism in reflection from magnetic structures

Mauro Fanciulli et al.

Summary: In this study, we introduced a classical electromagnetic theory framework regarding the reflection of a light beam carrying orbital angular momentum (OAM) by a magnetic structure with generic symmetry. Depending on the magnetization symmetry, we observed changes in the OAM content of the reflected beam as well as an asymmetric far-field intensity profile. Furthermore, we discovered three types of magnetic helicoidal dichroism (MHD) that can be observed by switching the OAM of the incoming beam, the magnetization sign, or both.
