Assessment of potentially toxic element pollution in soils and related health risks in 271 cities across China

Summary: This study systematically compiled data from around 170,000 soil samples collected in China between 2008 and 2018, and found an obvious accumulation of PTEs in the soils of most cities, with higher concentrations mainly in the South and Southwest. The study provides valuable information for developing advanced strategies to prevent and control PTE pollution in Chinese soils.
