Bisphenol A biodegradation differs between mudflat and mangrove forest sediments

Tianli Tong et al.

Summary: This study investigated the differences in BPA degradation, microbial community, and metabolic pathways between mangrove forest and mudflat sediments. It was found that BPA degradation was faster in mudflat sediment, with differences in bacterial abundance and community structure. Additionally, two divergent BPA biodegradation pathways were proposed based on functional annotation and gene abundance variations between the sediment types.
