Reassessing the Draft Articles on the Law of Transboundary Aquifers through the lens of reciprocity

David J. Devlaeminck

Summary: Despite the growing importance of groundwater, the 2008 Draft Articles on the Law of Transboundary Aquifers have not been fully adopted by the international community. This article aims to reassess them through the lens of the legal principle of reciprocity, identifying areas for revisitation such as sovereignty and recharge zone states.

Analysis of temporal diversity of precipitation along with biodiversity of Holdridge life zones

Hasan Tatli et al.

Summary: While there have been no statistically significant changes in biodiversity with respect to Holdridge life zones (HLZ), vegetation cover has expanded toward warmer and drier regions over the past 45 years. The water regime of rivers has also shifted due to early snow melting and increased evapotranspiration. Additionally, significant changes in rainfall diversity have been observed in internal and high-altitude areas of Turkey.

Determining nitrate and sulfate pollution sources and transformations in a coastal aquifer impacted by seawater intrusion-A multi-isotopic approach combined with self-organizing maps and a Bayesian mixing model

Juan Antonio Torres-Martinez et al.

Summary: Through the use of various tools and models, this study identified seawater intrusion and soil sources as the main contributors of sulfate and nitrate pollution in the groundwater of the La Paz aquifer system in Baja California Sur, Mexico.
