Immunolocalization and effect of low concentrations of Insulin like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) in the canine ovary

Diogo J. Cardilli et al.

Summary: IGF-1 plays an important role in the regulation of ovarian function, however, its specific function in the nuclear maturation of oocytes in the canine ovary remains unclear. Immunolocalization studies show the presence of IGF-1 throughout follicular growth stages in the ovary, but its role in oocyte nuclear maturation could not be demonstrated.
