Inconsistent urbanization effects on summer precipitation over the typical climate regions in central and eastern China

Summary: Using 30-year data from 428 stations in China, the study found that urbanization has inconsistent effects on summer precipitation, promoting heavy rain in wet climates but suppressing it in dry climates. The analysis revealed that the correlation between precipitation and convective available potential energy (CAPE) or humidity explains the regional differences in urbanization effects on heavy rain.

The relationship between land surface temperature and artificial impervious surface fraction in 682 global cities: spatiotemporal variations and drivers

The results show that LST tends to increase with AISF in most cities, with variations depending on climate zones and seasons. Spatial Interconnections of Land Surface Temperatures with Land Cover/Use: A Case Study of Tokyo

Geographically weighted regression (GWR) analysis was used to clarify the spatial relationship between SUHI and potential driving forces in the area, with the results showing an increase and expansion of SUHI in TMA from 2001 to 2015, with better GWR models performance compared to ordinary least squares (OLS) models.
