This study investigates the energy of a two-dimensional electron crystal in the low-density limit, and obtains the first correction to the electrostatic energy using numerical integration.
The energy of a two-dimensional electron crystal in the low-density limit is studied. The first correction to the electrostatic energy of a crystal is shown to be 1.62733r(s)(-3/2) Ry. The answer is obtained using the method of numerical integration.
