The sulfonamide-functionalized COF-SO3H, prepared as an acidic porous catalyst, showed high efficiency, short reaction time, simple operation method, solvent-free conditions, environmental friendliness, easy separation, and recyclability for the one-pot preparation of 1,8-dioxooctahydroxanthene derivatives.
Herein, we report the sulfonamide-functionalized covalent organic framework (COF-SO3H), prepared by condensation of melamine and terephthalaldehyde and subsequent sulfonation, as an acidic porous catalyst for the one-pot preparation of 1,8-dioxooctahydroxanthene derivatives at 90 degrees C under solvent-free con-ditions. The catalyst was characterized by FT-IR, EDX, TGA, SEM, and BET data. It offers various advantages such as high efficiency, short reaction time, simple operation method, solvent-free conditions, environmental friendliness, easy separation, and recyclability.
