Store-on grid scheme model for grid-tied solar photovoltaic systems for industrial sector application: Benefits analysis

Summary: The store-on grid (SoG) scheme is proposed as an energy business model to foster rooftop solar photovoltaic technology in developing countries. Compared to the time of use (ToU) scheme, the SoG scheme results in more profits for both prosumer and utility, as well as increased government revenue from tax on solar PV energy fed to the grid.

Multi criteria analysis ranking of solar photovoltaic modules manufacturing countries by an importing country: A case of Uganda

Summary: This study evaluated the life cycle assessment and economics analysis of solar modules, as well as proposed a multi-criteria analysis ranking methodology for module manufacturing countries. Results showed that Uganda has a high solar irradiance, leading to energy payback time and GHG payback time in the range of 1.32-3.28 years and 0.69-3.19 years, respectively. The proposed methodology is replicable and applicable in any country for decision-making.
