Heteroleptic palladium(II) complexes of the type formula [(DTC)(Pd)(PR3)Cl], where DTC = bis(2-ethyl-hexyl)dithiocarbamate (1, 8, 9, 10), bis(2-methoxyethyl)dithiocarbamate (2), di-n-decyldithiocarbamate (3, 6), di-n-hexyldithiocarbamate (4, 7), bis(2-methylbutyl) dithiocarbamte (5); PR3 = diphenyl-t-butylphosphine (1), diphenyl-n-propylphosphine (2), triphenylphosphine (3, 4, 5, 10), diphenyl-p-tolylphosphine (6, 7, 8), diphenylbenzylphosphine (9); have been synthesized and characterized by FTIR, Raman, multinuclear and multinuclear NMR (H-1, C-13, P-31) spectroscopy and elemental analyses. The structures of complexes (1 and 2) were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The geometries around the metal centers are pseudo square-planar. The new complexes exhibit moderate anticancer and antibacterial activity. (C) 2016 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
