Modifications of structural and optical properties of nanophase BaWO4 phosphors: Dose dependent effect of high energy electron beam irradiation

Seenamol K. Stephen et al.

Summary: This study investigates the dose dependent influence of 8 MeV electron beam irradiation on the structural and optical properties of BaWO4 nanoparticles fabricated by chemical precipitation route. It demonstrates that electron irradiation can modify lattice parameters, crystal size, and optical properties of BaWO4, suggesting potential applications in electronics and blue light emitting diodes. The results constitute the first report on the effects of electron beam irradiation on the structure, optical absorption, and photoluminescence properties of BaWO4 nanoparticles.

Effect of γ-irradiation on various important physical properties of a room temperature ferroelectric liquid crystal mixture and its silver nanocomposite

Asim Debnath et al.

Summary: In this study, a room temperature ferroelectric liquid crystal mixture and its silver nanocomposite were irradiated with various doses of gamma radiation from Co-60, and the properties were investigated as a function of irradiation dose and temperature. The results showed that the irradiation dose had a certain impact on various parameters, with differences in the properties changes between the pristine mixture and the nanocomposite, and the irradiation had a significant influence on their performance, leading to changes in multiple parameters with increasing irradiation dose.
