Modelling dislocation-graphene interactions in a BCC Fe matrix by molecular dynamics simulations and gradient plasticity theory

Fei Shuang et al.

Summary: This study investigates the interaction mechanisms between graphene nanosheets (GNS) and dislocations using Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulations. The results show that the shear strength of the metal/GNS interface and the bending stiffness of GNS play significant roles in blocking dislocation transmission. The mechanical interface energy is proposed as a unified measure for capturing and tuning the strength of various interfaces.

The wrinkling and buckling of graphene induced by nanotwinned copper matrix: A molecular dynamics study

Che Zhang et al.

Summary: Research shows that nanotwinned copper matrix can induce wave-shaped wrinkling and sawtooth-shaped buckling structures of graphene under uniaxial compression, facilitating the transition of graphene from 2D to 3D structures. The newly formed twin boundaries in the matrix improve graphene's resistance to out-of-plane deformation, allowing graphene to maintain stable morphology with good uniformity.
