Effects of vegetation type, season, and soil properties on soil microbial community in subtropical forests

Wenjuan Han et al.

Summary: The diversity and composition of soil microbial communities in forests are influenced by vegetation type, season, and their interactions. High-throughput sequencing revealed that vegetation type and season individually explain a portion of the variance in prokaryote and fungal compositions. Soil pH and organic carbon were significant drivers of prokaryote diversity and composition, while soil pH and electrical conductivity influenced fungal diversity and composition.
