Vaccination has started in some industrialized nations but there is still no effective treatment. A study in Southern Ethiopia found that only 12.3% of residents adhered to recommended preventive measures, with 63.51% having good knowledge and 54.5% having a favorable attitude towards COVID-19 prevention.

Practice of COVID-19 Prevention Measures and Associated Factors Among Residents of Dire Dawa City, Eastern Ethiopia: Community-Based Study

Summary: The study found that only 40.7% of Dire Dawa residents effectively practiced COVID-19 preventive measures. Factors associated with better practice included being female, married, having higher family income, a history of chronic disease, not chewing khat, good knowledge about COVID-19, and a positive attitude towards it. Some communities lack understanding and have a negative view towards COVID-19 prevention measures, leading to poor compliance.
