Exogenous abscisic acid and jasmonic acid restrain polyethylene glycol-induced drought by improving the growth and antioxidative enzyme activities in pearl millet

Samrah A. Awan et al.

Summary: The research found that exogenous ABA and JA can improve the growth profile of pearl millet under drought stress by enhancing chlorophyll and relative water content, and strengthening the plant defense system. Additionally, JA performed better than ABA under drought stress.

被撤回的出版物: Morpho-physiological and biochemical attributes of Chili (Capsicum annum L.) genotypes grown under varying salinity levels (Retracted article. See vol. 17, 2022)

Madiha Butt et al.

Summary: Climate change is causing soil salinization, which negatively impacts crop production worldwide. The ability of plants to tolerate salt stress is influenced by various physiological and biochemical pathways. This study focused on the impact of different salinity levels on the growth, biochemical attributes, and yield of two chili genotypes. Salinity stress resulted in significant reductions in various growth and biochemical attributes of the tested genotypes, while also affecting the concentrations of key nutrients in plant tissues. Genotype 'Plahi' exhibited better performance under salinity stress compared to 'A-120', indicating its suitability for chili production in saline areas.

Diversity of Leaf Cuticular Transpiration and Growth Traits in Field-Grown Wheat and Aegilops Genetic Resources

Kristina Gasparovic et al.

Summary: This study investigated the cuticular transpiration in 23 winter wheat genotypes and their wild-growing predecessors, finding that modern wheat genotypes had lower transpiration values compared to landraces, while Aegilops species generally showed higher cuticular transpiration. The study identified a high diversity in cuticular resistance to water loss in wheat and Aegilops accessions of different origins.

Progressive Genomic Approaches to Explore Drought- and Salt-Induced Oxidative Stress Responses in Plants under Changing Climate

Masum Billah et al.

Summary: Drought and salinity are major environmental stressors impacting crop development and yield negatively. Developing drought- and salinity-tolerant crops is crucial for sustaining global crop production and meeting the needs of a growing population. Modern genomics studies have advanced our understanding of plant responses to abiotic stresses and provided strategies for sustainable crop production under stress conditions.
