High-precision determination of the electric and magnetic radius of the proton

Yong-Hui Lin et al.

Summary: Utilizing dispersion theory and an improved description of the two-pion continuum based on precise Roy-Steiner analysis of pion-nucleon scattering, recent data from electron-proton scattering was analyzed. This allowed for a high-precision determination of the electric and magnetic radius of the proton.

Dispersion-theoretical analysis of the electromagnetic form factors of the nucleon: Past, present and future

Yong-Hui Lin et al.

Summary: This review focuses on the dispersion-theoretical analysis of the electromagnetic form factors of the nucleon, highlighting the importance of unitarity and analyticity in constructing isoscalar and isovector spectral functions. New results on nucleon radii, electric and magnetic form factors, and omega-meson couplings are presented, with detailed calculations of theoretical uncertainties using bootstrap and Bayesian methods. Physics of time-like form factors are discussed, with further issues to be addressed in this framework.

Measurement of proton electromagnetic form factors in the time-like region using initial state radiation at BESIII

M. Ablikim et al.

Summary: In this study, the electromagnetic process e(+)e(-) -> p (p) over bar was investigated using the initial-state-radiation technique and data collected by the BESIII experiment. The Born cross section and effective form factor of the proton were measured from the production threshold to 3.0 GeV/c(2), while the ratio of electric and magnetic form factors of the proton was determined from the analysis of proton-helicity angular distribution.

High-accuracy calculation of the deuteron charge and quadrupole form factors in chiral effective field theory

A. A. Filin et al.

Summary: In this study, a comprehensive analysis of the deuteron charge and quadrupole form factors based on the latest two-nucleon potentials and charge-density operators derived in chiral effective field theory was presented. By adjusting short-range terms in the two-nucleon charge-density operator, the values of the deuteron structure radius and quadrupole moment were predicted. The study also analyzed various sources of uncertainty in the predictions and updated the determination of the neutron charge radius.
