Twisted bilayer arsenene sheets as a chemical sensor for toluene and M-xylene vapours-A DFT investigation

V Nagarajan et al.

Summary: 2D materials, specifically arsenene sheets, are utilized as chemical and biosensors, with twisted bilayer arsenene sheets used to adsorb toluene and M-xylene vapours. The surface adsorption of these vapours modifies the electronic properties of TB-AsNS, facilitating molecule adsorption and desorption, and functioning as a sensing medium towards M-xylene and toluene.

Molecular Modeling and Simulation of glycine functionalized B12N12 and B16N16 nanoclusters as potential inhibitors of proinflammatory cytokines

Shujuan Gao et al.

Summary: The functionalization of boron nitride nanoclusters with glycine in gaseous and aqueous environments was studied using density functional theory calculations. The results showed that glycine has a more remarkable interaction with B12N12 compared to B16N16, and energetically prefers to interact with nanoclusters through its amine group. The electronic features of nanoclusters on the adsorption of glycine from its carbonyl group in the aqueous environment are more altered than the amine and hydroxyl groups. Additionally, molecular docking demonstrated the potential of the glycine-B12N12 complex for biomedical and drug-delivery applications.

Adsorption behaviour of sulfisoxazole molecules on tricycle arsenene nanoribbon - a first-principles study

M. S. Jyothi et al.

Summary: The density functional theory was used to study the geometry and electronic properties of pristine tricycle arsenene nanoribbon and Ga-substituted arsenene nanoribbon. Both are found to be semiconductors with the potential to adsorb sulfisoxazole, exhibiting chemisorption. The electronic properties of the Ga-substituted nanoribbon showed a significant change compared to the pristine one.
