Effect of PVA contained in ice on methane hydrate formation and gas storage

N. S. Molokitina et al.

Summary: This study investigates the kinetics of methane hydrate formation from frozen powdered polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) solutions. The results show that powdered samples prepared using frozen solutions of low molecular weight PVA have higher methane hydrate formation rates and gas consumption. All powdered samples prepared from frozen PVA solutions are more effective in methane hydrate formation than powdered ice.

Kinetic analysis of dual impellers on methane hydrate formation

Sotirios Nik Longinos et al.

Summary: This study examines the effects of different impellers and baffles on methane hydrate formation. The use of Ruston turbine was found to increase the initial formation rate of hydrates, but also led to higher power consumption. The presence of baffles in the experiments resulted in better hydrate productivity and longer induction times.
