Impact of patient race/ethnicity on emergency department management of pediatric gastroenteritis in the setting of a clinical pathway

Summary: Despite the implementation of a clinical pathway, NH-Black, Hispanic, and NH-other children presenting to the emergency department with AGE/dehydration were less likely to receive IVF or be admitted to the hospital compared to NH-White counterparts, and had shorter LOS. NH-Black and Hispanic patients had shorter LOS, but there were no significant differences in ED revisits.
