Summary: DGI, a severe stage of gonorrhea infection, can be difficult to diagnose due to the limited sensitivity of current diagnostic tests. This study successfully detected Neisseria gonorrhoeae using metagenomic next-generation sequencing in joint aspirates of patients clinically diagnosed with DGI.
