Nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 and β-Catenin Coactivation in Hepatocellular Cancer: Biological and Therapeutic Implications

Junyan Tao et al.

Summary: The study found that coactivation of beta-catenin and Nrf2 is present in 9% of all human HCCs, and coexpression of mutant NFE2L2 and mutant CTNNB1 led to clinically relevant HCC development in mice that responded to mTOR inhibitors. This model has both biological and therapeutic implications.

PPARα agonist fenofibrate attenuates iron-induced liver injury in mice by modulating the Sirt3 and β-catenin signaling

Ashok Mandala et al.

Summary: Excessive hepatic iron accumulation leads to downregulation of PPARα-Sirt3-Wnt signaling pathway and promotes fibrosis progression. The PPARα agonist fenofibrate shows potential as a therapeutic drug for liver disorders associated with iron overload.
