Assessment of Tailings Ponds by a Combination of Electrical (ERT and IP) and Hydrochemical Techniques (Linares, Southern Spain)

Summary: This study evaluated the efficacy of ERT and IP techniques combined with hydrochemical studies in assessing the encapsulation of mine waste in abandoned mining areas. The results showed that the integration of geological and geochemical information confirmed the interpretation of the geophysical data, demonstrating the effectiveness of monitoring ancient tailings ponds and assessing tailings encapsulation using ERT and IP methods.
