Viterbi and Viterbi Algorithm based Phase Recovery for Probabilistically Shaped Signals

Summary: This article discusses the performance of the Viterbi and Viterbi (V&V) algorithm in carrier phase recovery for probabilistically shaped signals, comparing it to the blind phase search (BPS) algorithm. Results show that under certain conditions, the V&V algorithm performs better. Additionally, the impact of signal entropy on both algorithms is investigated, and the computational complexity and running time are summarized.
