Fatigue performance improvement of laser shock peened hole on powder metallurgy Ni-based superalloy labyrinth disc

Xinlei Pan et al.

Summary: The study shows that laser shock peening technology plays an important role in improving the fatigue resistance of holes, increasing the fatigue limit through the generation of high amplitude compressive residual stress and microhardness, grain refinement, and removal of inclusions. This method is general and flexible, with potential applications to a wide range of engineering components with hole structures.

Effect of laser shock peening on the hot corrosion behavior of Ni-based single-crystal superalloy at 750 °C

Yongxiang Geng et al.

Summary: The study showed that laser shock peening improved the hot corrosion resistance of the Ni-based single-crystal superalloy by promoting the formation of protective oxide films due to the significantly different dislocation structures induced by LSP. Additionally, the hot corrosion mechanism of the LSP-treated superalloy was discussed.
