Particle regeneration technique for Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics in simulation of compressible multiphase flows

Yu-Xiang Peng et al.

Summary: In this work, a particle regeneration technique is developed for Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) to address particle disorder phenomenon in strongly compressible flow. The multiphase interface is calculated using an interface reproducing algorithm, with modifications made to the momentum equation for Riemann SPH to eliminate instability. Several numerical examples were studied to validate the algorithm.

Summary: The paper proposes a coupling method of ES-FEM and SPH for solving FSI problems, with correction algorithms integrated into the SPH method to improve computational stability and accuracy. The virtual particle coupling scheme was used for implementing the coupling of ES-FEM and SPH, which is found to be effective in simulating FSI problems.

Multi-resolution ISPH-SPH for accurate and efficient simulation of hydroelastic fluid-structure interactions in ocean engineering

Abbas Khayyer et al.

Summary: A multi-resolution fully Lagrangian meshfree hydroelastic FSI solver based on SPH has been developed for accurate and adaptive reproductions of ocean engineering problems. The solver includes a consistent fluid-structure coupling scheme and a novel multi-resolution scheme incorporating a common influence length, a modified SPH density definition and a SPH-based formulated SPP scheme to achieve precise satisfaction of fluid-structure interface boundary conditions and accurate volume conservation at the interface. Validation includes reproductions of classical and ocean engineering benchmark tests, with comparisons made to other FSI solvers.

A high-efficiency smoothed particle hydrodynamics model with multi-cell linked list and adaptive particle refinement for two-phase flows

Zhen-Xi Zhao et al.

Summary: In this study, the smoothed particle hydrodynamics method was used to model violent flows with a free surface. By implementing a multi-cell linked list algorithm coupled with adaptive particle refinement, the efficiency of numerical simulations was improved. The numerical model was validated through various simulations and showed good accuracy, time-saving, and high efficiency in simulating three-dimensional two-phase flows.
