Building (1+1) holographic superconductors in the presence of non-linear Electrodynamics

Grigoris Panotopoulos

Summary: In the framework of the gauge/gravity duality, we study one-dimensional superconductors by analyzing the dual (1+2)-dimensional gravity with Einstein-power-Maxwell non-linear Electrodynamics. We compute the critical temperature of the transition as a function of the mass of the scalar field in the probe limit and perform the computation analytically using the Rayleigh-Ritz variational principle. Comparison with higher dimensional power Maxwell field and (1+3)-dimensional Einstein-Maxwell theory for two-dimensional superconductors is also made.

New holographic Weyl superconductors in Lifshitz gravity

Jun-Wang Lu et al.

Summary: The study reveals that in holographic p-wave conductor/superconductor models, Weyl correction and Lifshitz scaling affect superconductor phase transitions and the growth of the real part of conductivity. In insulator/superconductor models, the Weyl parameter and Lifshitz scaling also impact the formation of condensates. The research suggests a competitive relation between Weyl correction and Lifshitz scaling.

Overcounting of interior excitations: a resolution to the bags of gold paradox in AdS

Joydeep Chakravarty

Summary: This work investigates how single-sided and eternal black holes can contain a vast number of semiclassical excitations in their interior, proposing a new solution to resolve the paradox in entropy. By describing the interior of black holes in Hilbert space, the resolution of the paradox arising from the orthogonal relationships between these excitations is provided.
