Pore structure evolution characteristics of sandstone uranium ore during acid leaching

Sheng Zeng et al.

Summary: By systematically analyzing the microstructure of acid-leaching uranium sandstone using nuclear magnetic resonance, the study revealed that the leaching rate of uranium can reach 50% within 24 hours, followed by a gradual slowdown. The leaching process of uranium experienced two stages of chemical plugging and one stage of physical clogging, with the permeability of the leaching solution decreasing first, then increasing, and finally decreasing again.

Determination of Optimum Process Conditions by Central Composite Design Method and Examination of Leaching Kinetics of Smithsonite Ore Using Nitric Acid Solution

Mehmet Kayra Tanaydin et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the leaching behavior of Tunceli smithsonite ore in nitric acid, optimizing the leaching process and kinetics modeling. The dissolution rate of zinc was found to be influenced by factors such as temperature, stirring speed, and acid concentration. The activation energy of the leaching process was determined to be 28.63 kJ.mol(-1).

Unconventional uranium in China's phosphate rock: Review and outlook

Delei Shang et al.

Summary: Some phosphate rock contains natural uranium, with most deposits in China showing low uranium concentrations but some in Sichuan and Yunnan having higher levels. China currently recovers uranium from phosphate rock, but may need to extract more uranium from imported phosphate rock in the future.
