Transmission dynamics and control methodology of COVID-19: A modeling study

Hongjun Zhu et al.

Summary: This study compared the transmission characteristics of COVID-19 and SARS, proposed a novel epidemic model SEIR-HC, analyzed the spread of the epidemic in Wuhan city using an optimization algorithm, estimated the basic reproduction number of COVID-19 to be 7.9, and discussed control measures and methodology for limiting the epidemic spread.

Optimal control of an SIQRS epidemic model with three measures on networks

Lei Zhang et al.

Summary: This paper proposes time-varying optimal control problems for an SIQS epidemic model of the network, aiming to reduce control costs. The theoretical results are illustrated by numerical simulations, showing the advantages of different control strategies and providing guidance for the development of disease control strategies. Our results are suitable for diseases in which a recovered individual may have lost immunity and can be infected again.

Analytical features of the SIR model and their applications to COVID-19

Nikolay A. Kudryashov et al.

Summary: This study considers a classic two-parameter epidemiological SIR-model of coronavirus propagation and obtains the first integrals of the system of non-linear equations. The Painleve test shows that the system of equations is not integrable in the general case. Analytical dependencies for the number of infected patients and recovered patients on the number of susceptible individuals are obtained, with a focus on the interrelation between infected and recovered patients.

The threshold of a deterministic and a stochastic SIQS epidemic model with varying total population size

Xiao-Bing Zhang et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a stochastic and a deterministic SIS epidemic model with isolation and varying total population size, establishing thresholds R-0 and R-0s, determining conditions for disease spread and elimination. Critical isolation rate and stochastic perturbation intensity are identified as key factors in disease control and eradication.
