Plant DNA Repair and Agrobacterium T-DNA Integration

Stanton B. Gelvin

Summary: Agrobacterium species transfer DNA (T-DNA) to plant cells where it may integrate into plant chromosomes. The integration process involves invasion and ligation of T-DNA, deletions, filler DNA, and microhomology. T-DNA integration is associated with major plant genome rearrangements, with contradictory results reported in the literature.
