被撤回的出版物: Cross-linked β-cyclodextrin nanofiber composite membrane for steroid hormone micropollutant removal from water (Retracted article. See vol. 658, 2022)

Alaa Mohamed Khalil et al.

Summary: Cyclodextrin loaded composite nanofibers have been successfully applied in water treatment, showing high efficiency in removing steroid hormone micropollutants. The combination of beta-cyclodextrin and polyethersulfone in the membrane structure enhances water permeability and micropollutant uptake capacity, making it a promising solution for water purification.

Adsorption behavior of heavy metal ions on a polymer-immobilized amphoteric biosorbent: Surface interaction assessment

Chaofan Zheng et al.

Summary: The study introduced a novel magnetically separable amphoteric biosorbent (PD-Fe3O4@CCS) and evaluated its adsorption behavior towards Cr(VI) and Cu(II) ions. Results showed that the biosorbent exhibited promising potential for large-scale application, with good reusability and stability. Surface interactions between PD-Fe3O4@CCS and heavy metal ions were systematically analyzed through FTIR and XPS, providing valuable insights for understanding biosorbent-contaminant interactions in wastewater.

A novel cationic polyelectrolyte microsphere for ultrafast and ultra-efficient removal of heavy metal ions and dyes

Liqin Cai et al.

Summary: A novel cationic polyelectrolyte microsphere (CCQM) with superior adsorption capabilities for anionic dyes and heavy metal ions was successfully synthesized. CCQM showed ultrafast adsorption rate and ultra-efficient adsorption capacity, surpassing most reported absorbents. Its adsorption mechanism involved cation exchange, chelating effect, proton exchange, complex formation, electrostatic interaction, and hydrogen bonding. Additionally, CCQM exhibited excellent recyclability, antibacterial viability, and biodegradability, making it a promising candidate for wastewater treatment applications.

Evaluation of adsorption ability of cyclodextrin-calixarene nanosponges towards Pb2+ion in aqueous solution

Salvatore Cataldo et al.

Summary: Different CyCaNSs were characterized and used as sorbents for removing Pb2+ ions from aqueous solutions. The adsorption abilities and affinities were investigated, and post-modified CyCaNSs show promise for designing environmental remediation devices. Recycling and reuse experiments on the most efficient adsorbents were also performed.

Scavenging organic micropollutants from water with nanofibrous hypercrosslinked cyclodextrin membranes derived from green resources

Fuat Topuz et al.

Summary: Water pollution by major human activities leading to clean water scarcity is a significant issue. A highly effective sorbent platform based on a nanofibrous membrane comprising hypercrosslinked cyclodextrin networks (HCNs) was developed to address this issue. The HCN membrane demonstrated high sorption performance for scavenging organic micropollutants in polluted water and showed excellent reusability upon treatment with acidic methanol.

A review on the removal of heavy metals and metalloids by constructed wetlands: bibliometric, removal pathways, and key factors

Guanlong Yu et al.

Summary: Constructed wetlands are increasingly used as an eco-friendly system for the removal of heavy metals and metalloids from aqueous environments. This review assesses the use of CWs through bibliometric analysis and highlights the importance of key factors such as pH, chemical oxygen demand, and temperature for efficient removal. Further research is needed to evaluate synergistic toxicity between pollutants and optimize pollutant remediation efficiency by combining CWs with other technologies.
